JIANGYIN XING CHENG SPECIAL STEEL, China

In the second half of 2006, the JIANGYIN XING CHENG SPECIAL STEEL [JYXC] company located in Jiangyin, Hunan Province - PRC successfully commissioned a 3-roll Reducing & Sizing Block [RSB] delivered by FRIEDRICH KOCKS in its newly built bar mill. Through the implementation of their extensive expansion program JYXC that is the leading manufacturer of bearing steel in China has engaged itself in one of the largest projects for the manufacturing long products in specialty steel grades in this country.

The 5-stand 370 mm Reducing & Sizing Block is the first block of Heavy-Duty design operating in the People’s Republic of China. It was integrated as a finishing block downstream of stand No. 18 in the bar mill. The design capacity of this mill is 500.000 tpy. The  Heavy-Duty RSB rolls straight round bars within a dimensional range of 15 to 60 mm onto the cooling bed.

Time and expense needed for commissioning were under budget. At the same time, the first bar ever produced with the  RSB was rolled without any problems and within the dimensional tolerances stipulated in the contract. The hot test as well as the performance test proceeded also without problems due to the professional cooperation with the customer and the competence of the commissioning staff. Only 10 days after the hot test, the final acceptance certificate for the new 3-roll Reducing & Sizing Block was signed.

All targets and expectations that JYXC had for the  3-roll technology at order placement were not only met but were actually exceeded by the KOCKS Reducing & Sizing Block. With this JIANGYIN XING CHENG has made an important step towards achieving and securing an excellent market position for the present and future.
