As a first development stage from 1950 the Stretch Reducing Mill (SRM) for seamless and welded tubes was introduced. This block type mill is based on up to 32 disc-shaped stands with 3 rolls and minimum stand spacing.
The sales of other tube mill equipment such as cross rolling mills for piercing and/or elongating, precision sizing mills, rotating hot saws, cooling beds and finishing equipment followed in later years.
The Stretch Reducing Block [SRB] with “Star Drive” for low cost production of seamless and welded tubes is the latest development stage in the long row of innovations in KOCKS tube mill equipment.
Based on the 3-roll technology for tubes the wire rod and bar rolling blocks were developed from 1954.
The compact “no twist” blocks were designed to roll quality and specialty steels, super alloys, sintered metals, non-ferrous metals and their alloys as well as for cold rolling purposes.
Mill groups of up to 10 stands in one block with group and/or individual drives were installed together with hot and cold cutting equipment, cooling beds and finishing lines.
The Reducing & Sizing Block (RSB) with “C-module” drive system for high quality rod and bar production at low costs is the latest development stage in the long row of KOCKS 3-roll blocks.
