Benxi rolls first bar on KOCKS Block

Bengang Steel Plates Co., Ltd. (Benxi), a leading Chinese steel producer, has successfully rolled the first bar on its new KOCKS RSB® 370++/4. The advanced Reducing & Sizing Block is now operational at Benxi’s existing 600,000 t/a bar mill line in Benxi City, Liaoning Province, marking a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to consolidate and expand its market position.

As a subsidiary of the Benxi Iron & Steel Group, which produces around 15 million tons of steel annually, Benxi is expanding its presence in the highly demanding special steel sector, with a particular focus on high-quality bearing steels and steels for precision-oriented processing industries. The implementation of the KOCKS 3-roll RSB® 370++/4 has been pivotal in this expansion, significantly improving Benxi’s ability to produce premium bars with unparalleled precision.

The RSB® 370++/4 is positioned as the finishing block after 14 continuous H/V stands in the roughing and intermediate mill. It enables seamless rolling of any required finished size from Ø 12.00 to 80.00 mm onto the cooling bed. With excellent rolling results, Bengang is now well-equipped to meet the stringent quality standards expected by its customers in the special steel sector.

In addition to the RSB® 370++/4, KOCKS also supplied essential roll-shop equipment and modern software solutions to further increase production efficiency. The advanced 3-roll block is equipped with remote control functionality for the precise adjustment of stands and guides, ensuring reliable rolling of tight tolerances, even during rapid dimension changes throughout the production process.
